Grace and peace to you through our Lord Jesus Christ! My prayers are with you all! The Quebec government has banned all indoor and outdoor gatherings and closed all non-essential businesses. Here is a list of what still remains open. The news at the church is that the Session has passed a motion to cancel services for the month of April. This, unfortunately, includes all of our Holy Week services and Easter. Session also passed a motion to close the church for the whole month of April. Sunday, March 22nd - No services or activities at Briarwood Grace and peace to you through our Lord Jesus Christ. I missed worshiping with you all on Sunday. How are you connecting with God during this quarantine? While many of us feel our lives grinding to a halt, as I look out the window, I see life just beginning! There are buds on some of the trees and the birds are returning! I hope you get outside for a walk to enjoy these gifts from God. What other signs of life have you noticed? Sunday, March 15th, 2020 - Services and activities cancelled: The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a rapidly evolving situation. The leadership at Briarwood is monitoring it very closely. Premier Francois Legault issued some restrictions in the province of Quebec yesterday. While we do not have 250+ people on a Sunday morning, we do have a large number of regular attendees who are age 65+, the high-risk age group. Friday, Mar. 6th – World Day of Prayer Service at 1:30 pm at Beaconsfield United Church, 202 Woodside Rd., Beaconsfield. Prepared by the women of Zimbabwe, the theme is “Rise, take up your mat and walk”. All are welcome! Saturday, Mar. 7th – Ladies’ Breakfast 9 am at Le Manoir (corner Hymus & St-Jean). Friends are welcome. Sunday, Mar. 8th – Lent II Daylight Savings starts. Two worship services at Briarwood – our traditional service at 10:00 am and contemporary service at 11:30 am, with kids’ faith program and nursery space at both.
