Children and Youth at Briarwood
Sunday Kids' Faith Program (10am & 11:30am)
We believe that every child has the right to learn about God at age-appropriate levels, where they are free to explore, ask questions and have fun. That’s why we have different kinds of classes on Sunday Mornings. At the 10:00 service, kids 3-years-old and older are welcomed to a one-room Sunday School to explore faith across age lines. At the 11:30 service, we have two separate classes; our Junior class includes kids from age 3 to grade 3 and our Senior Class includes kids in Grade 4 and above. New this year, we are offering a Sunday Morning Leadership Program for pre-teens and teenagers. Speak to Stevie for more information! Parents with children under the age of 3 are welcome to make use of our Nursery space, adjacent to the West vestibule.
If you are interested in helping out in any of these classes, getting more information, or meeting to chat with our part-time Children and Youth Director Stevie Pemberton-Thriepland, feel free to e-mail her at
Kids' Worship Club
On the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, after the 11:30 am service, kids in grades 3-6 are invited to join in the Kids' Worship Club. If you love to worship through music, this club is for you!
Every Friday night from 7pm-9pm teenagers in grade 7-11 invade Briarwood. We typically start with a hang out time before getting into our devotional, focusing on important questions that teens have, a Bible passage, discussion group or just figuring out how God can be applied to every day life. After a quick stop to graze on snacks provided by members of our congregation (we have some excellent cupcake and cookie bakers in our midst!) we move on to our main event which could be anything from games night, to duct tape night, to playing capture the flag with glowsticks. We are an open community that exists to provide a place for teens to develop their faith, ask questions, develop friendships, have fun and eat lots of food.
