Mid-week Message

Greetings!

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Brett and I had a wonderful and relaxing time celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in Punta Cana last week. We stayed on the beach, went boogie boarding, and enjoyed the sounds of the ocean. We went snorkeling at a national park on Catalina Island. We had fun practicing our Spanish skills. There was much to rejoice over during our fabulous trip, as you can see in this photo!

Upon returning, we were sick and tested positive for COVID. This is a bummer. But, we still rejoice and thank God that we are home, and well-cared-for as we recover.

Part of our new normal in COVID is learning to adjust when the Pandemic complicates things. I rejoice that I have already found people to cover all of the services this weekend:

• Rev. Lara Scholey from St-Columba-by-the-Lake Presbyterian Church will officiate at Stella Muir’s Memorial Service this Saturday at 11am.

• Edythe Arnott will lead the worship service on Sunday at 10:45 am.

I will miss you all in worship this weekend, but let us rejoice together that as a community, we can pull together and adjust. Let us rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances.
