Mid-week Message
Greetings!
“My child, do not let these escape from your sight: keep sound wisdom and prudence, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your way securely and your foot will not stumble. If you sit down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” - Proverbs 3:21-24
The book of Proverbs exhorts us to seek after wisdom. God is the source of all wisdom on earth. When we set our sights on God, we find wisdom. This week, I encourage you to set your eyes on God, to seek after wisdom, and dwell securely in God’s presence. The hymn, Be Thou My Vision, helps to center our minds and hearts on this spiritual discipline. I invite you to sing these verses this week as we prepare our hearts and minds for Lent.
Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
naught be all else to me, save that thou art,
thou my best thought in the day and the night,
waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.
Be thou my wisdom; be thou my true word,
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord;
thou my great Father, thine own may I be,
thou in me dwelling, and I one with thee.
Grace and peace, Rev. Sarina
