Mid-week Message
Grace and peace to you through our Saviour Jesus Christ,
“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.” - Ephesians 4:32
We have been living through this life-changing pandemic long enough to be entering a new normal. It’s hard to say what the new normal is because we are still living in flux. As we adapt, public health recommendations require that we develop so many new habits for things as simple as going to the grocery store. It can be difficult to remember it all!
I am sure we can all relate to forgetting our new normals. For example, when it came to packing a kids’ backpack for camp, I felt it was a victory when I remembered the sun hat, only to discover upon arriving at camp, that the mask was left at home. *sigh*
It’s hard for all of us to remember to stay 2 meters away from others, to wear our masks, etc. At the same time, it can be unnerving when we are out and someone is not following the public health recommendations. But in the midst of our collective adjustment to this new normal, it’s important to remember to forgive one another. It can be easy, in the moment, to pass judgement on someone for forgetting their mask or the 2 meters distance, but we are all making mistakes as we develop new life-habits. So, let us forge ahead into this new normal with kindness and forgiveness, trusting that God is leading us on this path through the wilderness together.
Go in peace and be imitators of God (Eph 5:1),
